One of the big things that prevents this from being a mediocre yet enjoyable piece of brutal death metal is the production. It's got that mid to low level studio production of a lot of mid-'90s DM groups, with decent sounding drumming, somewhat submerged vocals, and way overly distorted guitars recorded at too high a volume to preserve any modicum of tone. Internal Bleeding In The Name TOTAL FUCKING SLAMS Yeaahh !!! ... rasanya mungkin yang ga tau Banyak tentang eksistensi salah satu New York Death Metal yang mempopulerkan Gaya Slam Death Metal sejak kemunculannya tahun 1991, karena pada waktu itu dan (mungkin) sampe sekarang kebanyakan Pengamat masih mengatakan kalo Internal Bleeding ga jauh berbeda dari Gaya Bermain Suffocation waktu itu bahkan lebih parahnya ada yang meng-klaim sebagai Cloning-nya Suffocation segala ! padahal band ini mencoba mengembangkan konsep bermain yang lebih Slam dan Groovy tanpa terjebak dalam gaya yang Cepat dan Brutal pada konsep bermusiknya. the distortion gets to the point where you can't actually, you know, hear the difference between notes, preventing coherent riffs from being composed. This alone pretty much damns the album from ever being in regular rotation from me. There are some blasting sections with mostly inaudible tremolo riffing, lots of midpaced, hardcore-inspired grooves, and lots of guttural, somewhat burping growls. There's also a constant procession of start/stop chug riffs over double bass that all sound pretty much exactly like each other. dan anggapan yang serba salah itu mari kita coba benahi. Internal Bleeding memang band yang eksis tahun 1990 mengusung gaya bermain Slam dan groovy yang kental. sejak kemunculan pertamanya, IB langsung melepas Demo pertamanya seharga 1 Dollar, ga heran banget kalo akhirnya Demo ini dikasih titel " The One Dollar Demo " karena memang hanya dijual dengan harga tersebut, kover cuman Xeroxed Copied Alias Foto Copy-an dalam format kaset pita menyuguhkan 4 lagu berdurasi 13 menitan cukup mengenalkan nama mereka di Belantika musik cadas. meski masih dengan rekaman yang Raw, IB cukup sukses mengusung gaya death metal dengan sentuhan Slam Groovy-nya. Their riffing and compositional style is more streamlined and to the point. There is more emphasis on the varying textures of shifting beats over the same riff, and also those ever satisfying tempo shifts. kemudian 1 tahun kemudian IB melempar demo kaset ke-2 " Invocation of Evil ", IB yang solid dikomandani 3 sahabat karib, Gitaris Chris Pervelis, Drummer Bill Tolley dan Bassis Brian Hobbie ( Kini Pindah Posisi Ke Gitaris ke-2 .ed ) semakin matang dalam mengkonsep musik dan Soundnya. dengan kemasan yang jauh lebih baik dari sebelumnya, tetep dirilis Independen yang kemudian menarik perhatian Wild Rags Records untuk merilis ulang kembali semakin menambah Reputasi IB dengan jadwal panggung mengalir deras saat itu hingga kemudian IB melempar demo ke-3 walau tanpa seorang Vokalis, akhirnya Chris dan Bill sendiri yang mengisi sesi Vokalnya. sukses dengan 3 demo ini, Akhirnya IB digandeng oleh label Kenamaan saat itu, Pavement Music ( Yang Kini berganti nama menjadi Pavement Entertainment .ed ) yang Pernah merilis juga albumnya Crowbar, Malevolent Creation, Vader, Jag Panzer, Fear Of God, Hate Plow serta masih banyak lagi diera 90-an. dan Perkembangan Musik Slam Death Metal tentu tidak akan pernah menjauhkan full album pertama IB " Voracious Contempt " sebagai Movement Penting perkembangan Slam Groovy Death Metal !!! Berangkat ke Cove City Sound Studios, Glen Cove, New York, Chris Perverlis Cs akhirnya Merekam Materi Full pertama mereka dengan lebih baik bareng Enjiner terkenal saat itu, Scott Burns yang dibantu oleh Enjiner Andy Tarr. meskipun Scott Burn terkenal dengan Tangan dingin hasil Maksimal di era 90-an, Scott masih membebaskan Band yang digarapnya untuk mempertahankan konsep sound-nya termasuk IB sendiri masih membawa karakter NY Death Metal sound-nya. meski terdengar Raw dan Distortif seperti di 3 demo-nya, gaya sound ini adalah Ciri khas sounding Awal NY sound loh ! seperti yang dimainkan pula awalnya oleh Suffocation, Pyrexia Hingga Dying Fetus. Sure their sound is clearer than before, but this clearness steals them their powerful guitar sound. Don't get me wrong, I don't mean this album is weak or soft in any way, it's just that the final sound seems so polished and clear that the band loses the dark atmosphere they created in their previous demos. dimulai dengan " Languish in Despair ", IB membukanya dengan sebuah Intro selama 1 menit dan kemudian barulah sambutan hangat pertama udah membangkitkan adrenalin headbanging Gw dengan Groovy Slam Beat yang ciptakannya. Technically, they play well-executed NY brutal death metal with some hardcore influences. We can find a varied range of speed in this work, groovy slow heavy parts, mid-paced to fast sections, and even some furious fast blasting. Songwritting and riffing is quite good, although there're some simple riffs here and there, and solid song structures. Terasa Powerfully banget hampir disemua Ketukan Kompleks-nya dengan elemen Penting style Death Metal sendiri walau banyak menaburkan Breakdown Beat mencengkeram ala Band2 Hardcore New School dengan Sayatan Blastbeat Sana sini. Deep Growling Vokalis Frank Rini cukup memecahkan suasana Menghentak ini dengan Powerfully. dari sini memang Gw banyak menangkap Keseriusan dan Kematangan Bermusik IB yang dinamis. so here's some old-styled, yet good brutal death metal. It's in the 4 new tracks where the groovy hardcore influences are more recognizable !! Karakter Slam-nya ini memang pada beberapa Riffing-nya banyak mengingatkan akan Musikal Suffocation pada breakdown Chuggin Riffing, And as to the band being considered by many to set the slamming death metal standards years before its world-wide boom, I personally don't see the point of that. Internal Bleeding is not really that slamming, and don't even as fast as those slamming bands out there. Kombinasi Permainan Fantastik antara Bill dengan Chris sendiri untuk tetap terkungkung dalam alunan Slam Beat yang kental yang kemudian banyak mempengaruh konsep bermain Dying Fetus tersebut. Track yang merupakan hasil penyempurnaan era Demo " Perpetual Degradation " memang terdengar lebih Menendang disini termasuk Track " Prophet of the Blasphemies dan Inhuman Suffering ". kemudian dari Demo ke-2 " Invocation of Evil ", IB mematangkan kembali track " Epoch of Barbarity, Gutted Human Sacrifice dan Despoilment of Rotting Flesh ", memang Full album pertama ini lebih menjadi album kompilasi Track2 demo IB pertama yang mengalami Aransemen ulang. The performance/production: Decent and dissapointing, respectively. Drums sound a little dirty, but very natural. I really don't mind the drum production at all. I appreciate the lack of click-clacky trigger happy kicks. The guitarists are fairly tight here and play some bad ass riffs... but that tone is horrible! So scooped and buzzy. There are some blasting sections with mostly inaudible tremolo riffing, lots of midpaced, hardcore-inspired grooves, and lots of guttural, somewhat burping growls. There's also a constant procession of start/stop chug riffs over double bass that all sound pretty much exactly like each other. Mungkin dari Full album inilah Gw langsung mulai menikmati secara Jelas konsep bermain IB sebenarnya belum gw tangkap dari 3 demo sebelumnya. dengan mengusung lirik lagu tentang Kehidupan sosial lengkap dengan Kebencian mereka, menjadi Topik Ringan menarik dari pada IB menulis tentang Kematian atau Hal2 Fantasi lainnya. Sukses album ini masih berlanjut di Full album ke-2 IB " The Extinction of Benevolence " Tahun 1997. well Buat para Slammer Death Metal yang belum mengenal banget Sejarah penting Genre Slam, sangat Gw rekomendasikan untuk mendengar kembali album Fenomenal ini segera. at times disturbing riffs, insane shredding, and the occassional slower part (I'm obviously speaking of "Pierced From Within"), Internal Bleeding are more simple and straight-forward, and the riffs mostly seem to be varients of each other (the drums were obviously written before the guitars were, as the guitars seem to do nothing but follow the drums) or so brutal that the fans fall asleep due to boredom, and I think a lot of bands could learn from that. This band, while not the most original band on earth, is showing their inspirations in the best way they know how, while still keeping their own identity, which, regardless of what you think of this band, is a pretty remarkable feat !! TOTAL FUCKING SLAM !!!
